Dr. Vorstman's primary areas of interest and expertise are in pediatric urology and adult reconstructive urology in addition to treating the more common urological disorders. Originally from New Zealand, Dr. Vorstman completed his Chief Residency at the University of Miami. He also successfully completed a prestigious Fellowship in Pediatric and Adult Reconstructive Urology at the Eastern Virginia Medical School, the premier center for reconstructive urology, in Norfolk, Virginia. Dr. Vorstman was appointed Assistant Professor of Urology in the Department of Urology at the University of Miami, where he lectured extensively, carried out clinical responsibilities and participated in an NIH-sponsored research project related to urinary bladder reinnervation. In 1987, Dr. Vorstman left his faculty position and subsequently became a founding member of urologyweb, LLC Dr. Vorstman is a Fellow of the American College of
Surgeons, a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics, and a member of
the American Urological Association, the American Medical Association, the
Society for Pediatric Urology, the Society for Genitourinary
Reconstructive Surgeons, the Society of University Urologists, and Society
International d'Urologie, among others. Dr. Vorstman has published several chapters and articles on aspects of reconstructive urology and related topics. He has presented his works and research at both national and international meetings. |
